The Rebels started their first playoff series since 2015 on Monday night and it was some exciting playoff hockey. The Rebs finished the 1st period in a 1-1 tie with a goal by Adam Klaas assisted by Colby Turcott. After a scoreless 2nd period the Panthers were able to take the lead late in the 3rd. With just 55 seconds left the Rebels tied it with a snipe by Connor MacGregor assisted by Jacob McPhee. Unfortunately Port Hope was able to take this one with a goal at 2:33 in the 1st OT. Rebs goalie Mitchell Bown made 40 saves on the night.
Game 2 took place at home in Campbellford on Tuesday night. Port Hope came out in the first and scored two finishing the period 2-0. The Rebels got one back in the 2nd scored by Brock Kelsh, assisted by Andrew Moran. Port Hope came out in the 3rd and scored quick making it 3-1. The Rebels battled back. Colby Turcott scored to make it 3-2 shortly after, assisted by Dryden Minifie. Setting the tone with two game changing hits were Cullen Pollock and our Captain Andrew Moran. With 6 minutes left Jacob McPhee scores an absolute beauty to tie the game 3-3 assisted by Kieran Hannigan. On to OT again. Just 44 seconds in Adam Klaas burried the game winner sending the hometown crowd wild. Assisted by Aiden Treverton. Bown made another 40 saves.
Game 3 is tonight in Campbellford. Puck drop is at 8:30 PM. A ceremonial puck drop will take place in honour of our Sponsors by players from the U9 Campbellford Colts.
