Rebels Get Clawed by Panthers

The Campbellford Rebels continued to slide in the wrong direction on Wednesday night dropping a close 3-1 decision to the Port Hope Panthers. Andrew Moran opened the scoring for the Rebels on the powerplay after being set up by Ethan Salter, but that was all the Rebs would manage on a rare Wednesday game night. The Panthers scored three unanswered goals including an empty net goal to seal the deal. Eric Martin was exceptional in goal for the Rebels making numerous big saves to keep the game close. Next action for the Rebels is on Friday night when they have their official home opener, hosting the new entry Frankford in Campbellford. Puck drop is at 7:30pm, the two teams will tangle again on Saturday night in Campbellford at the same time.
