Last night the Campbellford Rebels hosted the Port Hope Panthers for game 3 of the PJHL Playoffs. Before the game in honour of all our amazing sponsors for the 2021-2022 season we invited Seth Turner, Elijah Quinn, James Linn and Mitchell Tanner from the U9 Campbellford Colts to drop the puck. Big thanks to these kids and potential future Rebels!
Coming off the buzz around town of two overtime playoff games the Campbellford Barn was packed with nearly 200 spectators and they we not disappointed when the Rebels and Panthers played another exciting playoff game.
Port Hope came out flying and scored two early early goals in the 1st period. Just before the end of the period Adam Klaas sniped one, assisted by Aiden Treverton to make it a one goal game.
As the 2nd period was winding down, with just 31 seconds left the Rebels tied it. Benny Scarr scored assisted by Adam Klaas and Andrew Moran.
After a hard fought 3rd period by both teams regulation time ended in a 2-2 tie. For the third game in a row the game would need overtime to decide the winner.
In overtime both teams had multiple chances to end the game. But it was the Panthers who scored to win the game half way through the first OT period.
Game 4 happens tonight in Port Hope. Puck drop is at 7:30PM.
